We should have switched to a new doc much sooner. This one did more in 30min than either her primary or the other podiatrist did in two months. I am still flabbergasted. Time will tell if what the new one did was effective, but she has an appointment next week to see if there’s improvement.
Meanwhile, the last doctor – who was supposed to call and discuss the current situation within 24-48 hours of Thursday – has not called. I will definitely be warning people away from that doctor and their office. We’re currently looking in to how to file a formal complaint as well.
New doc took xrays and didn’t see any indication fracture, so thinks it might be a problem with her ligaments and because she was still walking on it – even at a much reduced pace and amount – it was continually being re-injured and not healing. She got a cortisone shot to bring down the inflammation and, again, a follow up appointment in a week. If that doesn’t work, reevaluate and try something else. You know, like you do in medicine.
Here’s hoping it feels better in the next week. And if not, at least we have a doc we can actually call and get a response from within a day or two instead of a week or two.
