Lady Jr has begun growing all of its vital organs and its tail is completely gone. Alas. But, it’s starting to get wiggly in there.

Lady Jr is about the size of an eastern tailed blue butterfly:

First appointment with the OBGYN and second ultrasound was today. Got to see Lady Jr again – definitely less blob-shaped and more fetus shaped. Could make out the head and a limb-bud or two, and of course there was the heartbeat.

Next appointment is in April. I’ll be 13 weeks and pretty much done with the first trimester. Crazy. It feels so slow, but it also feels like just yesterday I was getting positive beta numbers.

Symptoms remain about the same. Very tired, fatigued, hard to do anything or be productive. Food is meh, with occasional bouts of hunger. Still not exactly nauseated, still haven’t thrown up. Starting to get a little silly/forgetful already – put the scissors in a weird place and completely forgot I’d done it, for one. Ongoing lack of anxiety, which is pretty sweet. I couldn’t even get slightly worried that something might be amiss with Lady Jr on the check-up today.

My boobs are still sore, but they seem to have stopped growing and settled at 36B for now, a full cup and band size larger than they were. They’re very… solid. Which is not what I was expecting, at all.

We’re going to tell immediate family this weekend. Funnily enough, Lady’s mom is going to be visiting as of Thursday, so she’ll get to know first. I don’t think I can really hide this constant malaise very well from her.

Life right now is mostly just coasting through an expectationless fog. I’m hoping that when the fatigue recedes in a few weeks, I’ll be able to get excited again. Right now all I want to do is sleep.

One day, at about 13 weeks, I woke up and realized I didn’t just want to go immediately back to bed, and it was over, the fatigue. It’s coming!
